Monasteries around Inle Lake

The Inle Lake area is dotted with interesting monasteries, both on and around the lake. Most notably are the Jumping Cat Monastery (Nga Hpe Chaung Monastery) where the monks have trained their cats to show jump, and Shwe Yaunghwe Kyaung, an old 18th-century wooden monastery with unique oval windows.
